Corona virus: India has more than 2 million victims, Pakistan to open schools, colleges, restaurants and parks

Pakistan Coronavirus News: Coronavirus situation could worsen in Pakistan in next 2 weeks - The Economic Times

In view of the steady decline in the spread of Coronavirus in Pakistan, it has been decided to lift various restrictions imposed on Pakistan, while the total number of infected people in neighboring India has exceeded two million, according to official figures. And it is the third-largest country in the world in terms of victims. In July, the spread of coronavirus in Pakistan appeared to be slowing down and according to the latest figures, the total number of infected people in the country is more than 282,000.

But fortunately, the number of patients being treated has now dropped to 18,000. The total death toll is more than 6,000. In view of these circumstances, the Pakistani government has decided to take various precautionary measures against restaurants and sports, announcing the lifting of the five-month ban on the number of new cases of coronavirus in the country. And resume other business activities

Informing of the decisions of the National Coordinating Committee meeting on Thursday, Federal Minister Asad Omar said that the educational institutions would be reopened on September 15 but would be reviewed on September 7 while the provincial ministers for education and health would meet each other. I will cooperate and work out a strategy. Hotels, wedding halls, public parks have also been announced to open while markets will also open as usual. But while Pakistan's average number of tests has dropped to less than 20,000 and the total number of tests conducted in the country so far is two million, India has rapidly increased its ability to test in the last few weeks. More than 20 million tests have been done in India so far, while the number of new victims is coming to more than 50,000 daily for nine consecutive days. In the last 24 hours, India has conducted more than 600,000 tests while the total death toll is more than 40,000. India's last one million victims have come to light in the last 20 days alone when the number of tests in the country has risen sharply. But since the death toll is only 2.1 so far, the government has ordered the gradual reopening of normal activities, although some states are still following the lockdown. With regard to India, it is feared that the actual number of victims and deaths is much higher and it is not coming to light because the authorities are doing insufficient testing. Given India's large population, this is not surprising, but India is now a global hotspot for the coronavirus and the number of victims is growing rapidly. But in neighboring countries, the sharp rise in May and June has seen a decline in infections. South Asia is home to a quarter of the world's population, but only 11% of the total infections recorded are from the region.
