Burning a country's flag is a punishable offense in Germany

In Germany, burning the flag of the European Union or any other country has been declared a punishable offense. However, one party has stated that it is restricting the freedom of expression of citizens.  According to international media, Germany's federal parliament passed a law on Thursday, May 14, making it a punishable offense to burn the flag of the European Union or any other country in Germany. Under the new law, violators could face up to three years in prison
