Powerful 5.1 earthquake hits northern Iran, 2 dead, 38 injured

At least two people have been killed and 22 others injured in a series of earthquakes in northern Iran. The quake affected Damavand, a town in the northern Iranian province of Mazandaran, according to Reuters. The magnitude of the quake was recorded at 5.1.
According to the report, the tremors were felt late at night after which a series of aftershocks continued. The tremors left people in fear outside their homes for the rest of the night, including a 21-year-old girl and a 60-year-old man. Authorities have been urging people outside the home to comply with social distance rules to protect them from the corona virus.
The Corona virus has so far infected 133,135 people in Iran and killed 6,486
