 PTA banned 5 popular applications, 5 dating and live streaming applications were blocked in Tinder, Tagged, Scott, Grinder and Se High Pakistan. According to the details, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has taken action against 5 popular applications. A press release issued by PTA officials states that the company has launched five dating / live streaming applications including Tinder, Tagged, Scout, Grindr and SayHi. Their service in Pakistan has been blocked. PTA officials are of the view that the said applications were being used to spread immoral, obscene material and have a negative impact on the society. The PTA contacted the management of the said applications and issued notices to them to terminate the dating services and to moderate the live content in accordance with the local laws of Pakistan. However, there was no response to the notices issued by the PTA. As the management of the said applications did not respond to the notices within the stipulated time, the agency decided to take action. Now PT has issued orders to close the said applications in Pakistan. The above 5 applications have been blocked in Pakistan. It further said that if the management of these applications assures the removal of unethical and obscene content in accordance with the local laws under the appropriate strategy, then the PTA will ban these applications. May reconsider its decision.
