Motorway rape case: Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan is in favor of depriving rapists of their sexual ability

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he is in favor of depriving the perpetrators of rape and child sexual abuse in the country of their sexual ability and fresh legislation is needed in this regard. He said that like murder, sexual offenses should be classified in the law and rapists should be sexually disqualified. The statement by the Prime Minister of Pakistan came after a strong reaction to a recent incident of rape in Pakistan and protests in different parts of the country.

The incident took place near Lahore, where two men raped a woman waiting for help in their car on the side of the road last night after torturing her in front of her children. The Prime Minister of Pakistan in an interview given to private TV channel 92 News on Monday said that this incident has shaken the entire nation. He said that one of the accused involved in the incident had been involved in gang rape in the past and fresh legislation was needed to deal with such people. He said that like murder cases, rape should also be classified as a crime. Imran Khan said that in the case of rape, the perpetrators of 'first degree' should be disqualified through surgery. He said he had read that such punishment was being meted out in some parts of the world. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that when he came to power, he was in favor of public execution in the face of rising sex crimes in the country, but he was advised that doing so could provoke a global reaction.

Imran Khan said, "I think they should be hung in the square." Imran Khan said that although he was in favor of public execution for the crime, he was told that it was not in Pakistan's interest to do so as the EU's permission for international trade would be suspended. The prime minister said a system should be set up to monitor those facing such allegations. He said that one accused was already involved in the cases in this (recent) incident so such legislation was necessary. "Such suspects should be registered with the police and monitored," he said.

It may be recalled that the motorway rape case is being widely condemned in social and political circles and the government and police are being sharply criticized by the opposition. In this regard, the demand for public execution of rapists has once again gained momentum on social media. However, PTI leader and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry vehemently opposed such demands, citing the escalation of violence. He said in a tweet that such statements by ministers and the educated class without hesitation "reflect the violent thinking of our society, which sees violence as the solution to every problem." Burn alive, public execution. Give, cut off the limbs; such a reaction from the people is understandable, but such talk by our ministers and the educated classes without any hesitation is a reflection of the violent thinking of our society, which opposes violence on every issue. Understands the solution. He also said that those who demand Islamic punishment for such crimes do not understand the complexities of their procedure and it is not as easy as they think.

According to him, the claimants should not think that "anyone can be caught and hanged." It may be recalled that the Legislative Assembly of Pakistan-administered Kashmir had unanimously passed an amendment bill on July 1, which approved other severe punishments, including deprivation of sexual ability for perpetrators of child rape. ۔ Introducing the bill in the Legislative Assembly, Minister Ahmad Raza Qadri said that the law is strict but it is being enforced against a crime which is very inhumane. He said that section 377A has been amended in the bill which has three proposals to deprive a person who sexually abuses a child of sexual ability and also to impose either the death penalty or life imprisonment. ۔

The Prime Minister of Pakistan-administered Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, told the BBC on the passage of the bill that it was a difficult decision to get the amendment passed by the Legislative Assembly, including the Cabinet. It was unanimously approved to stop the spread because, according to him, "we had no choice but to legislate."Ansar Burney, head of the Ansar Burney Trust, a human rights group, told the BBC at the time that he strongly condemned the legislation because it was ridiculous. "You have made this legislation in a country where there is a separate law for the rich, a separate law for the poor, and a separate law for the rulers. To me, this is not only ridiculous but also a mockery of justice and its murder, "he said." By no means do I want to convey that I recommend for the mother to be inactive. In my opinion, such a person should be given a dreadful punishment like life imprisonment or punishment that would embarrass him for this crime. You are accepting this punishment in a country where people take the money and give false testimony. In such a situation, anyone can file a case against his opponent and get him punished. Punish the perpetrator of such a crime, but do not make a spectacle of punishment.
