The mayor of the federal capital Islamabad has been suspended by the federal cabinet.
Following the approval of the Federal Cabinet, a notification of suspension of Islamabad Mayor Ansar Aziz has been issued. According to the notification, Islamabad Mayor Ansar Aziz has been suspended for 90 days. He has been charged with corruption for which he has been suspended. The purpose of his suspension is to conduct a transparent inquiry. It may be recalled that the Mayor of Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz belongs to PML-N. He was elected the Mayor of Islamabad in February 2016.
