Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Babar Iftikhar said that PML-N leader and former Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair had met with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, his party leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter and the PML-N. N had two meetings with reference to Vice President Maryam Nawaz. Speaking to private TV channel ARY News, the army spokesman said that Muhammad Zubair had met General Bajwa in the last week of August and again on the 7th of this month. He said the two meetings were held at the request of Muhammad Zubair and were attended by Lieutenant General Faiz, head of the ISI. Major General Babar Iftikhar said that in both the meetings he talked about Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz. The spokesperson further said: "Whatever was discussed in these meetings, the Army Chief made it clear to them that whatever their legal issues are will be resolved in the courts of Pakistan and the political issues will be resolved in Parliament." The army should be kept away from these matters.

However, Zubair has denied claims that his meetings with the army chief were aimed at discussing any relief for Nawaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz or that he had met General Bajwa as his representative. News that Nawaz Sharif's envoy's meeting with the army chief had been circulating since Tuesday evening, but Maryam Nawaz denied the allegations while talking to reporters at the Islamabad High Court premises on Wednesday morning. No representative of his father met General Bajwa. Muhammad Zubair said that he had a 40-year-old relationship with General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Muhammad Zubair said that his first meeting with the Army Chief was four hours long but he refuted the position of Major General Babar Iftikhar that DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed was also present in the meeting. He said that he never once asked the military leadership for relief for his leadership nor did he tell him that he was sent by Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz or Shahbaz Sharif. Muhammad Zubair said that the first sentence of his meeting with the Army Chief was that "I have not come to seek relief for myself, nor for the party, nor for Nawaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz." Muhammad Zubair added that during his meeting with the Army Chief, the economy was discussed for an hour and a half.

He said that during the cases against Don Lex, Panama Papers, disqualifications and Maryam Nawaz, he did not even request a meeting with General Bajwa nor was he asked by Nawaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz to leave him. Let's meet Referring to today's statement of DG ISPR, Muhammad Zubair said that he did not know why DG ISPR had said this. "It simply came to our notice then. So far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange. I do not know why, but I do not know why. As soon as the statement of the army spokesman came to light, there was a discussion on Pakistani social media. Journalist Sir Almeida wrote that the army's strategy now is to record all meetings with politicians.

Journalist Mazhar Abbas wrote on Twitter that it was good that the DG ISPR named the league leader who met the Army Chief not once but twice and discussed the cases of Nawaz and Maryam. He said that Zubair's position was very weak and the PML-N would have to explain or accept the NRO's request.

Journalist Bilal Lakhani wrote that Muhammad Zubair had two meetings with the army chief at the request of Muhammad Zubair, and then Maryam says that no PML-N leader met the army. Pointing to the Establishment, he said that the game was not the only one playing here. User Shehzad Khan wrote that this is an unsatisfactory justification from Muhammad Zubair, clearly he was trying to make some kind of arrangement for PML-N.
