The United States has stepped up efforts to "normalize" relations between Arab countries and Israel

The US administration is stepping up efforts to bring peace to Arab countries and Israel. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and President Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Gerald Dixon will send two separate trips to the Middle East this week. Following the recent agreement to establish diplomatic relations in the UAE, efforts are being made to include more countries in it.

According to the US broadcaster, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and senior adviser to President Donald Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to meet separately with leaders of several Middle Eastern countries, the diplomat was quoted as saying. Foreign Minister Pompeo will travel to Israel, Bahrain, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Sudan on Sunday. Dixon will visit Israel, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco this week. The State Department has yet to formally announce the trips. World affairs experts say no major announcements are likely from either tour. The two visits are aimed at achieving at least one more peace agreement between Israel and the Arab world, which will seek to establish diplomatic ties between Israel and another country in the region. During his visit to Qatar, Foreign Minister Pompeo is also expected to meet with representatives of the Afghan Taliban. The US diplomats will also discuss issues related to inter-Afghan peace talks and the withdrawal of US troops from the White House. He did not comment on the Middle East tour, saying that efforts to normalize relations between Israel and the Arab world have accelerated without resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The surge in diplomatic efforts comes as the United States announces the resumption of all sanctions on Iran, noting that Israel and the United Arab Emirates announced on August 13 the resumption of full diplomatic relations. Under the US-backed deal, Israel will no longer annex the Palestinian territories. Some analysts are calling the Israeli-UAE deal a major political victory for President Donald Trump ahead of the presidential election. Reflects on the changing political situation in the Middle East and is due to the concerns of some Arab countries regarding Iran. After the agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, President Trump said that other Arab countries should also be united. The UAE should follow suit.
