The United Nations has warned that along with the corona virus epidemic, a global mental health crisis is looming in many countries due to a lack of attention to the treatment of mental illness.
Michael Ryan, director of the WHO's emergency department, expressed concern about Corona at a virtual press conference in Geneva on Wednesday.
"The virus may become endemic in our community and may never go away," he said.
As of mid-May, about 300,000 people worldwide have died from the Covarna virus, compared to more than 4.3 million.
"HIV is not gone, but we have learned to fight the virus," said Dr. Ryan. He said that in his opinion, no one can predict when the disease of code-19 will end.
He said it could take years for people without the vaccine to reach the required level of immunity against the virus.
There are more than 100 efforts to develop a covarna virus vaccine around the world, but experts say it may never happen. Michael Ryan said that even if a vaccine were developed, it would take a lot of effort to control the virus.
He also said that there are still many diseases like measles in the world which have been vaccinated but could not be eradicated.
The United Nations has warned that the Corona virus epidemic is affecting everyone, from frontline medical staff to those who have lost their jobs or those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. It causes stress and depression.
In a policy statement issued on Thursday, the United Nations called on countries around the world to include mental health care and psychosocial support in their epidemic plans.
Good mental health is essential for a thriving society, and without these measures, without these measures, an epidemic as well as a global mental health crisis could ensue.
