Supreme Court allows general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, Supreme Court allows amendment in Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018.
According to media reports, the Supreme Court heard a petition regarding the general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and the establishment of a caretaker setup. The Supreme Court gave a brief verdict. The court allowed the government to set up a caretaker government and hold new elections by amending the Order 2018. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that in a detailed decision, the procedure for holding elections would be clarified.
